Nanjing is a prominent city in Chinese history. The people of history that have been there and the events that have occurred there have somehow embedded itself into the city as well. Nanjing is also known for being the place of the exams for Chinese men in the ancient past to enter the government. The buildings and streets that the scholars had once walked upon are still there as well.
Our tour brought us to the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum as its key location, just 392 steps to the top. I would have loved to been able to go to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall. Another Chinese city on my list of places to return to.
