Years ago, my aunt and uncle took my sister, cousins and I out for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Toronto. Now, I haven’t been back since that one experience which does not reflect on the food. It was more like we were never in the area and I felt that the pasta was good, nothing spectacular, but good.
Going to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Vancouver had a different vibe if only because the restaurant first started in Vancouver. It was in Gastown that the brothers Pulos first started the pasta chain. Of course that has no real effect on the taste of the food but it is interesting at least to be able to say that we ate at the first Old Spaghetti Factory that had actually started out in an old warehouse. Atmosphere is actually pretty important too. Nevertheless, it was a good lunch – filling; I’m glad I got the lunch size of the lasagna.
