Seokbinggo: Ice Storage

Wolseong Fortress used to be a palace during the Silla period but all that remains today is the Seokbinggo, or the ice storage. It literally translates to rock ice storage. The structure is made of a thousand stones and the roof is mounded. It’s been designed with ventilation ducts and although you can’t enter the storage area, just standing by the gated entrance, you can feel the cool air.
