Yeomiji Botanical Gardens

Yeomiji Botanical Gardens is pretty amazing and my only regret from my visit was that it was raining and I did not have the chance to explore the outdoor gardens. The building of the botanical gardens was beautiful itself. Inside, there was a flower garden, cactus garden, subtropical fruit garden, water lily garden, and jungle garden. We walked through all the little gardens indoors and climbed up to the observatory. If the weather was nicer, and we weren’t so pressed with time, I’d have loved to leisurely strolled through the Korean and Japanese gardens outside. One of the things I loved about strolling through the gardens was reading the names of some of the flowers and plants. I would read the Korean and then the Chinese. Unlike the scientific names in English, these names are more beautiful and descriptive of the plants. The favourite name I read? The Fairy Girl Dance cactus (loosely translated by yours truly).
