Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street

Perpendicular to the Dotombori is Shinsaibashi-suji street – a covered shopping street. Covered shopping streets seem to be quite the trend in Japan – and I like the idea of it – being able to still go shopping outside, but without having to go through snow, rain or sunshine bearing down on you. The amount of people here on the Saturday was absolutely crazy and reminds me of Myeongdong in Seoul or Hong Kong – in general. Along the street are many different stores – accessories, clothing, costumes, shoes, a Disney store, tea shops, and a few department stores could be accessed from the street.
