Sadong Myeonok 사동면옥

We’ve passed this restaurant a few times while in Insadong and had always wanted to try it. We were always tempted by the large dumplings that you could see them making right from the window at the entrance. We finally decided to sit down at this not-so-little restaurant.

The atmosphere you get from the restaurant is that this is a family-oriented restaurant. As in, the family works and lives in this restaurant. There were just photos and strange oddities of things all over the place. There didn’t seem to be a theme for the interior other than “I’ve got it, let’s just put it somewhere.”

We decided to order the Mandu jeongol like the woman recommended. This is a “Dumpling & five-mushroom & beef & noodles with five-vegetables cooked in casserole.” The two-person set was 20,000 won. And to say that it was amazing is an understatement. It was basically all food that I loved in one big hot pot.
