A co-worker of mine brought me to this little Korean restaurant in Hyehwa area. This place had a really cute courtyard out in front and they serve simple Korean cuisine including noodles and food that you would normally also get at food stalls.
We decided to share and try the 고동면 (noodles named after the place), 진주국수 (Jinju noodles), and 모듬튀김 (assorted fried snacks). What we didn’t realize was that the 고동면 is a cold noodle dish – almost the same as the Jinju noodles, but cold. So it was a good thing to share everything so that one of us didn’t have to just eat a cold meal on a cold day. It was all really good and I’d definitely go back if I was in the area again and wanted a simple Korean meal.
To get here, go to Hyehwa Station (Line 4) and exit 2, because exit 3 is currently closed for renovation. Turn around and walk down the main street to the intersection to cross the road. From there, keep walking in the same direction and turn left at the street with the Coffine Gurunaru (spelling?). The restaurant is on your left hand side, just a minute or less down this road.
