Misaki Shrine Festival 2014

In the area of the hotel that I stayed at, there was a festival during the week that I was here. Although I did not stick around for the festivities – it seemed that they were just parading, eating, and drinking all day – I did glimpses of it in the morning and in the evening when I was coming and going from the hotel. It was interesting to see all the local people get involved in this and chant and have a good time.

It would appear that the morning processions were a little more … child-friendly and had more children involved. The afternoon seemed to include some men who were showing a lot more leg than I’m used to seeing. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that there were a few bare butts hanging out at the festival. I love traditional wear… but maybe the men need to update it and either get longer robes or shorts.
