Halloween in coming up this week. Unlike Canada, Korea doesn’t actually celebrate Halloween. The celebration of this holiday is only done by foreigners living in Korea and the more foreigner-enthusiastic group of Koreans. And so, for those who do want to get into the Halloween festivities in Korea, there seems to be limited ways in which to get a costume. I came across this party supply shop – with the help of the internet – in Hongdae.
They didn’t have many costume options – a lot more decorations. But there were a lot of different accessories – like hats, headbands, wigs, and the like. As it was, I decided to go with a simpler Halloween idea and got myself a pair of Mickey Mouse ears this year. I’ve never been a Halloween person but I think it’d be fun to bring a bit of that western culture and practice to my students at school on the Friday.
