This was probably one of the most sad and solemn places that I’ve visited in South Korea. Seodaemun Prison is one of many prisons that the Japanese had built during the Japanese occupation. It was educational and eye-opening as an experience, and nearly made me cry. It’s as if the very grounds still hold all the pain and suffering of the Korean people. I don’t wish to rehash what I learned here… It’s really more of a learning experience that you should go and figure out for yourself.
