My parents and I joined a tour for our trip to Thailand. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to spend a lot of time in Bangkok. I would really like to return to Bangkok one day and just explore the city without the tour next time.
One of the main attractions of Bangkok is the Grand Palace – which we actually did go to. Us and a million other tourists it would seem. This was during March – and it would appear that Thailand is busy all the time. Nevertheless, I enjoyed seeing the palace and I was fascinated by how elaborate and fancy it all is. A lot more gold being used here.
I absolutely loved the tiled walls of this building. The colour is just so beautiful.
One of the Thai kings had been to England before and when he came home to Thailand, this Western-Thai fusion of a building was made – the Buckingham of Thailand.
Look how my parents seem so content despite being surrounded by our tour group mates and the other hundreds of tourists in the area.
I am disappointed to say that this trip won’t be making much of an appearance on this blog. Word of advice: don’t join the very cheap tours because you end up doing a lot of things that are commercialized and don’t get a chance to really see the city and country. Normal tours are okay – it’s all about getting what you paid for.
