In general, I was pretty satisfied with my meals while in Peru. Most of the places we went to were either buffet or a restaurant with a special menu for us to choose our courses from.
Mangos Buffet (Lima) – Wonderful food with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. It’s located jutting out of the cliffside.
Hotel La Hacienda (Lima) – Beautiful Spanish-inspired decor in the hotel restaurant.
San Agustin Monasterio de la Recoleta (Sacred Valley, Cusco) – One of the more unique hotels we stayed at. It was once a monastery, the chapel is still in place but the residential buildings have been converted into rooms with modern facilities. The hotel restaurant was also once part of the monastery – loved the atmosphere.
El Mapi by Inkaterra (Machu Picchu) – A very modern hotel and restaurant in the town below Machu Picchu.
Coca Qantas (Machu Picchu) – A random restaurant that we decided to go to for a mid-morning treat. We were looking for two certain items in particular…
Sara – the organic cafe-bistro (Cusco) – The cutest little restaurant with an amazing ceiling decoration of coloured, dried corn. Very organic and healthy options – beautiful presentation of food — too salty for my taste buds.
Mutu Food & Drink (Cusco) – Little restaurant by the town square in Cusco. They have a pretty nice mix of clientele – backpackers and locals. One of my favourite meals on the trip.
