A trip to France is not complete without a visit to a château and perhaps the most famous one is Château de Versailles. I’m sure most of us have heard of Marie Antoinette – and this is where she lived when she married the King of France. She has her own little palace grounds here, deep into the palace, beyond the gardens.
This palace will take up the whole day – it takes hours just to walk around the garden, and you still won’t be able to complete all of it, at least not on foot. My friends and I headed to the gardens first – as we were advised to in order to avoid all the tourists who tend to go straight into the palace buildings first. I absolutely love the gardens and the palace. Such a beautiful place to spend a summer day while in France.
The palace itself is very grand, exquisite, and… French. I’m not a huge fan of the decor, but give me long, beautiful hallways and beautiful ceilings any day.
