One of the main reasons why I’ve always wanted to go to Prince Edward Island is because of Anne of Green Gables. This is, without a doubt, my favourite book. So, of course, I would want to visit the little eastern island province that L.M. Montgomery came from. My friend was such a good sport and let me plan out this little adventure to fulfill my little fangirl’s dreams. At the Green Gables heritage place, there is the initial building that you watch a video and also get to read information about the author and the famous work. We also got to see some of Montgomery’s actual belongings and different editions of Anne of Green Gables.
Afterwards, we could venture out to the Green Gables – which was amazing to see.
Inside is set up with furnishings and things that reflect the turn of the century when the novel was written in and in which Montgomery grew up. And for fans of the novel, little things were set up in reference to the novel so that was fun to find and see what I could connect.
In order to remember my time here, I did get an Anne doll and a special edition of Anne of Green Gables that’s specially published and only sold here.
A visit to Green Gables wouldn’t be complete without a stroll through Lover’s Lane – which Anne and Diana frequently walked through. So it only seemed fitting that I would take a little walk with one of my own kindred spirits.
A must-visit for any fans of Anne of Green Gables.
