Located in the southeastern reaches of Toronto are the Scarborough Bluffs. Standing along Lake Ontario is an escarpment that makes up the Scarborough Bluffs. It’s a unique landscape in North America and at times, it’s hard to believe that you’re truly still in Toronto.
There are two main areas that attracts visitors. First of which is the outlook from the top of the escarpment. Although the edge has been fenced off and signs warning that trespassing is at one’s own risk, visitors flock to it. On a clear day and with safety precautions, it’s quite safe to be able to stand in this area to view the park and marina below and get a great view of the lake.
Making your way down can be quite perilous. Many accidents occur here though you can see many trails that people have created throughout the years. However, if you brought your car, it’s quite easy and close to just drive down and park in the parking lot.
At the bottom of the escarpment, you can walk along the shoreline and get a closer look at the cliffs.
If you do visit Scarborough Bluffs, practice safety precautions as the area has been eroding rapidly in the past decade and accidents have occurred in this area as a result.
